Should I attend the lesson?
You must cancel your lesson if you have COVID symptoms, or have been in close contact with someone with coronavirus, or you or anyone in your household is self-isolating, or you have travelled from a country not on the travel corridor exemption list in the last 14 days. For more info on when to cancel your lesson see here.
Should I come to the lesson “swim-ready”?
”Swim ready” means wearing your swimwear under your clothes. You don’t have to come “swim-ready” but if you’d like to, it will keep your time in the changing room down.
How big a bag may I bring?
We ask that you bring a small bag with essentials that you can leave in a single locker.
Is the start time of my lesson the time that I need to be on the pool deck?
Yes. The start time of the lesson is the time that you need to be on the pool deck, wearing your swim costume and ready to get in the water.
How important is the start time?
The start time of your lesson is very important because your changing room time is linked to the start of your lesson. Your changing room time opens 15mins before your lesson and closes at the start time of your lesson. If you miss your changing room time you will miss your lesson!
Why do I have a changing room time?
It’s not just the pool that’s subject to social distancing requirements. The changing rooms are too. They are gorgeous but they’re not huge and are used by hotel guests, spa guests, health club members as well as our swimmers. The only way that social distancing can be managed is for a changing room time to be synched with a pool visit.
When should I arrive at the Health Club Reception?
We ask that you arrive at the Health Club Reception no earlier than 15 mins before the start time of your lesson. It’s no longer possible to wait at the Health Club Reception, in the changing rooms or at the pool.
We strongly recommend building in some buffer time in the local area before your lesson in case of transport delays. There are lots of great cafes nearby (still open) where you can grab a tea.
What if I am running late?
If you arrive at the Health Club Reception at or after the start time of your lesson you will have missed the changing room window synched with your lesson time and you will lose your lesson. This is stricter than we or the hotel would wish for but its the only way demand for a small space can be managed.
Again we strongly recommend building in some buffer time in the area before your lesson.
Do I need to put a face mask on before entering the hotel?
Yes. It is the law that face masks are to be worn in public areas of a hotel (with some exemptions for specific populations). The public areas include the changing rooms (apart from showers). It also includes the swimming pool area but as you will only be here to swim you do not need to wear a mask.
How do I find the Health Club Reception?
When you arrive at the hotel just ask the Concierge to direct you to the health club reception. You are looking for the health club reception rather than the main reception.
If the Concierge is not at their desk at the entrance, then look for the pillar situated to the right hand side of the concierge desk. Behind this pillar is a door which takes you to the hotel main reception area. (Basically at the concierge desk don’t take the left or right hand glass doors. The door you need is behind and to the right of the desk).
Once in the main reception area you will see a staircase and lifts to your left. Take the stairs down one flight and turn to your right following the signs for the Health Club Reception.
NHS QR Code Poster at Reception
If you have signed up for the NHS Test and Trace app (which is voluntary) you may scan the QR code at the Health Club Reception to register your arrival in the app.
Whether you have signed up to the app or not – in the event of a local outbreak, we may be required to pass the following details to the NHS Test and Trace team so they may contact you (name, phone, and dates/times of lessons in the past 21 days).
What happens next?
Just let the lovely Health Club Reception team know that you are there for a lesson. They will check you in, give you a towel and direct you to the changing rooms and your locker (which will have been sanitised and reserved for you).
How do the lockers work?
The lockers use a keypad system. They are reset and cleaned after each use. When you arrive they will be locked. Use “c” 0000 and then lock key to unlock.
To lock and set your own pin, hit “c”, then your four-digit pin followed by the lock key. Unlocking is the same keys as to set or lock. Enter “c” then your four-digit pin and the lock key.
What can I bring to the pool area?
You may bring your towel and your goggles. We ask you to leave everything else in your locker.
Where is the pool?
Once you have changed into your swimwear just make your way to the pool.
From the men’s locker room head through the shower area and from there to the pool.
From the ladies locker room head towards the shower area. Before you enter the shower area you will see a door on your left. Take this door and the stairs down to get to the pool.
