Goggles
You will need goggles for your lessons.
The human eye does not focus well in water but with well-fitting goggles, you will be able to see clearly, relax more and protect your eyes.
If you already have goggles, great, just bring these along. If not, look for goggles with clear lenses. These are best for swimming indoors. Tinted lenses are more for swimming outdoors in the sun.
There are many brands out there but one that we like and use is Aqua Sphere. Popular makes are the Kaiman (small like a traditional swim goggle but more comfortable) and the Seal Mask 2.0 (wide vision and sit comfortably on the cheekbones). You can buy these online at Amazon.
But the key thing is comfort. Whatever goggles feel comfortable and don’t leak will be fine.
Prescription Goggles
If you wear glasses or contacts we suggest prescription goggles. Being able to see makes all the difference!
There are many brands out there but one that is popular with our swimmers is the Aqua Sphere Eagle. This is a soft goggle with interchangeable lenses. It comes with regular lenses and you buy the right and left prescription lenses separately. These come in half step diopter increments from -1.5 to -6.0. You can buy these online at Amazon.
Again the key thing is comfort and vision so whatever prescription goggles work for you is fine!
Forgotten Goggles
In the past, the instructor always had spare goggles which you could borrow if you forgot yours. Sadly we can no longer lend goggles for Covid safety reasons.
If you do forget your goggles the instructor will have a new pair which you may purchase if you wish. We will just contact you after the lesson for permission to put this on your card.
