What’s the pool like?
At Covent Garden the pool is a stunning 18m x 6m deck level pool. You can see it here. This pool is currently open.
The City pool is a similar size (17m x 10m). The City pool will be re-opening mid-summer.
How busy will the pool be?
Both pools are usually very quiet.
At the Covent Garden pool, there is a limit of 5 people in the pool at any one time. However, it’s rare that the swimming pool would ever be that busy. More often than not it’s just another swimmer or two. And sometimes you may even have the pool to yourself. Any other swimmers will be hotel guests or health club members.
At the City pool you can expect one or two swimmers at most in the two other lanes. Very occasionally you might have the pool to yourself. Any other swimmers will be health club members.
Will there be other lessons taking place?
No. We only teach one lesson at a time. The lessons are very private.
Are the lessons over-looked?
No. There is no gym, cafe or viewing area overlooking the pool.
Will I have a demarcated lane?
At the Covent Garden pool you will have your own space but it’s not demarcated with lane ropes. You will have plenty of space, however.
At the City pool, you will have a demarcated lane.
How deep is the pool?
The Covent Garden pool is a constant 1.5m depth from one end to the other. The City pool is a constant 1.2m depth from one end to the other. If you are petite and new to swimming the City pool may be a better option.
Do you use floats?
We don’t use floats. You won’t see any armbands or noodles in our lessons!
Will the instructor teach in the water?
A big part of our philosophy is that the instructor is in the water with you whether you are starting out with swimming or a seasoned swimmer.
Given the current situation, however, we have modified this approach in line with your level of swimming and skill acquisition. For further information see here.
