What is the pool like?
At Covent Garden the pool is a stunning 18m x 6m deck-level pool. You can see it here. The Westminster pool is 16m x 6m. The City pool is a similar size (17m x 10m) deck-level pool. The City pool will be re-opening soon.
Will there be other lessons taking place?
No. We only teach one lesson at a time. The lessons are very private.
Are the lessons over-looked?
No. There is no gym, cafe, or viewing area overlooking the pool.
How busy will the pool be?
The pools are usually very quiet. More often than not it’s just another swimmer or two in the rest of the pool. And sometimes you may even have the pool to yourself. Any other swimmers will be hotel guests or health club members.
Will I have a demarcated lane?
At the Covent Garden pool you will have your own space but it’s not demarcated with lane ropes. You will have plenty of space, however.
At the Westminster and City pools, you will have a demarcated lane for your lesson
How deep is the pool?
The Covent Garden pool is a constant 1.5m depth from one end to the other. The City pool is a constant 1.2m depth from one end to the other.
The Westminster pool is 1.4m deep at each end, and 1.7m deep in the middle. At this pool, we use teaching platforms where necessary so you will always be able to stand.
Do you use floats?
We don’t use floats. You won’t see any armbands or noodles in our lessons!
Will the instructor teach in the water?
A big part of our philosophy is that the instructor is in the water with you whether you are starting out with swimming or a seasoned swimmer.
